This Privacy Policy describes how Alvaro ("I", "me", "we"), independent developer of the MangaHub application, collects, uses, and discloses information about individuals who use the MangaHub mobile application and other associated services, tools, and features (collectively, the "Services"). For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, I am the data controller, and "you" and "your" means you as a user of the Services.

By using any of the Services, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use or access the Services.

Changes to This Privacy Notice

I may modify this Privacy Policy from time to time, in which case I will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy. If I make material changes to the way I use or disclose the information I collect, I will make reasonable efforts to notify you (such as by sending you an email to the last email address you provided me, by posting a notice of such changes on the Services, or by other means consistent with applicable law) and will take additional steps as required by applicable law. If you do not agree with any updates to this Privacy Policy, please do not continue using or accessing the Services.

Collection and Use of Your Information

When you use or access the Services, I collect certain categories of information about you from a variety of sources.

Information You Provide to Me

Some features of the Services may require you to directly provide me with certain information about yourself. You may choose not to provide this information, but doing so may prevent you from using or accessing these features. The information you submit directly through the Services includes:

Account Information: Name, email address, profile photo, and login credentials when you register using Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple ("Account Information"). I use this information when necessary to fulfill my contract with you to provide the Services and to maintain and secure your account.

Collection Data: Manga titles, volume numbers, editions, publishers, formats, conditions, grades, certification numbers, purchase prices, estimated values, storage locations, and personal notes ("Collection Data"). This data is used to manage your manga collection and provide value estimates.

Reading Data: Reading status, chapters read, volumes read, user ratings, start and completion dates, and re-read counts ("Reading Data"). This data is used to track your reading progress and provide personalized recommendations.

Barcode Data: When you use the ISBN barcode scanner, image data is processed on-device to extract ISBN codes. Scanned images are not stored on our servers; only the extracted ISBN is used to look up manga metadata.

Payment Information: Subscription and purchase history, processed through Apple App Store, and managed by RevenueCat ("Payment Information"). I do not directly store credit card information or sensitive financial data; these are managed entirely by Apple's platform.

Any other information you choose to include in communications with me, for example, when sending me a support email.

Information Collected Automatically

I also automatically collect certain information about your interaction with the Services ("Usage Data"):

Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifier.

Usage Information: Application usage statistics, such as activity dates and features used.

Preferences: Application settings, language preferences, and time zone.

I use Usage Data in my legitimate interests to improve the Services, personalize features and content for you, and better understand user interaction with the Services.

Collection Data Processing

I use your collection and reading data to:

Value Estimates: Calculate estimated market values for your manga volumes based on third-party price data from eBay sold listings.

Personalized Recommendations: Provide manga recommendations based on your collection and reading history.

Analytics: Display your collection data in charts and statistics to help you understand your collection's composition and value.

Grading Integration: Track professionally graded volumes from partners such as Beckett Grading Services.

I do not use your collection data for advertising or share it with third parties for commercial purposes.

Disclosure of Your Information

I may disclose your information to third parties subject to this Privacy Policy, including the following categories of third parties:

Service Providers: Third-party providers or services that help me provide the Services, including: - Supabase: Data storage and authentication (servers located in the European Union) - RevenueCat: Subscription management - Apple App Store: Payment processing and application distribution

Third-Party Data Providers: When fetching market values, only manga title and volume identifiers are shared with eBay's API. No personal data is transmitted to these services.

Authentication Providers: When you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, these services provide me with basic profile information according to their respective privacy policies.

Business Transactions: I will share personal information with a buyer or other relevant third party as necessary in the event of a sale or transfer of the Services.

I do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

I may also disclose your information as necessary to comply with applicable law, to cooperate with law enforcement, court orders, and regulatory investigations, to enforce any applicable terms of service, and to ensure the safety and protection of the Services and users.

Device Permissions

The Services may request access to certain features of your device:

Camera: To scan ISBN barcodes for quick manga identification and addition to your collection.

Notifications: To send you reminders and updates about your collection.

You can manage these permissions at any time from your device settings.

Third-Party Websites and Links

I may provide links to third-party websites or platforms, including links to eBay listings, AniList, and MangaDex for manga metadata and cover images. If you follow links to sites or platforms that I do not control and are not affiliated with me, you should review the applicable privacy notice, policies, and other terms. I am not responsible for the privacy or security of, or information found on, these sites or platforms.

Children's Privacy

Children under 13 years of age are not permitted to use the Services, and I do not knowingly seek or collect any personal information about children under 13 years of age (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).

If I become aware that I have collected information about a child under the relevant minimum age, I will make commercially reasonable efforts to delete such information. If you are the parent or guardian of a child under the relevant minimum age who has provided me with their personal information, you may contact me to request that it be deleted.

Data Security and Retention

I implement enhanced security measures to protect your data:

Despite my reasonable efforts to protect your information, no security measures are impenetrable, and I cannot guarantee "perfect security."

I retain your information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes specified in this Privacy Policy, or while you maintain an active account. In determining the length of time to retain your information, I consider various criteria, including whether I need the information to continue providing you with the Services, resolve a dispute, enforce contractual agreements, prevent harm, promote safety and integrity, or protect the Services.

Data Transfers

The personal information I collect will be transferred to, stored/processed in, or accessed from countries outside the jurisdiction in which you are based, for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Specifically:

- Database servers are hosted in the European Union (Supabase) - Payment services operate globally (RevenueCat, Apple) - Price data is fetched from eBay's global API

For data transfers outside the European Union, I use applicable safeguards, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, unless the transfer is to a country that provides an adequate level of protection.
